Taking Action is the Key to Reaching Your Goals

Amazingly, jet planes with a planned fly route can now travel faster than sound to reach the farthest destinations. You would agree, though, regardless of how fast the jet can fly or how well the "planned fly route," that before a jet can travel to its destination, it first has to leave the runway. In the same way, before you can reach your goals, you too will need a plan to follow, but, like the jet, no matter how good your plan or how fast you can travel, before you can reach your goal, you first have to leave the runway. In other words, you have to take action before you can ever reach your goals.

If you are serious about reaching goals, why not get started today. Here are the steps you need to take. First, commit yourself to taking action on your goals to do whatever it takes to reach them, as long as it does not violate the rights of anyone and is legal. Most likely you have a number of business as well as financial and personal goals you aspire to accomplish, but first things first. There will be plenty of time left to accomplish them later. But for now, decide on one particular goal you want to reach, more than any other. Think about all the steps you will have to take to accomplish your goal and write them down as they come to mind. Do not worry about having all the steps exactly in order, you can organize them later.

Second, skim over your written list to locate the first step you need to take toward reaching your goal. If you find that, because of finances or other sundry reasons that there is absolutely no way possible to complete the first step at this time, then continue on to locate the second step. If that too is not possible to complete at this time, continue skimming over your list until you locate a step that you can take action on. Most likely, you will find it necessary to tweak your list, from time to time, adding some here, taking away some there. Also, you will need to leave a little extra space underneath each step, so that, if you run short of completing one of the steps planned for a particular day, you can use it to write yourself a reminder that completing it the following day is a top priority. Ideally, your list should include only manageable size steps that can be completed within a day's time. If a step is simply too big to complete within a day, break it down into smaller steps that can.

Third, now that the steps to accomplish your goal are written up and organized - its time to leave the runway - time to take off - time to take action. Your own experiences have taught you that the journey to any destination - to any goal, begins with a single step. Remember the steps you have taken to get to where you presently are, along with what was said about the jet plane having to leave the runway to reach its destination, and reflect on it often to keep you motivated. If you are not where you want to be, make a commitment, now, to change. Take action each day to complete at least one step toward reaching your goal. And keep at this, making it your daily priority, until you reach your goal.
